Beau Bradford, Interim Dead of Alexandria Campus

Alexandria, La., Feb. 15, 2018 — Retired Col. Beau Bradford has been selected as the Interim Dean of the Alexandria Campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC).

Bradford will manage day-to-day campus operations, lead the relocation of current operations to the new downtown campus, and serve as a resource for students and the community during evening and weekend activities. Bradford assumed his new position Feb. 5.

Bradford retired from active duty with the Louisiana National Guard on Feb. 1 where his last position was Chief of Federal Contracting.  He was previously Commander, Recruiting and Retention Command where he was integral in gaining and maintaining 100 percent manpower. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he commanded the largest battalion in Iraq consisting of 15 companies.  Bradford also served as Commander of the 773rd Military Police Battalion. While in this position, he and his battalion patrolled the Louisiana Superdome, Morial Convention Center and other facilities surrounded by flood waters during Hurricane Katrina. He has held numerous other positions, including Director of Military Support, Administrative Officer for the 225th Engineer Group, and Administrative Officer for the 199th Regiment where he was instrumental in recruiting and graduating the largest officer candidate classes in the program’s history.

Bradford is an attorney and holds a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is a native of Alexandria where he resides with his wife, Melissa. They have two children.

“We are very fortunate to have Col. Bradford on our team,” said Chancellor Jimmy Sawtelle. “His experience and military background will help advance the mission of CLTCC, especially the move to our new downtown campus.”

“It’s a great feeling to be a part of this college’s future. The city of Alexandria and all of Central Louisiana will benefit from our new downtown campus,” said Bradford.  “I really appreciate Chancellor Sawtelle’s confidence in me and thank him for this new opportunity.”
