CLTCC Oakdale Campus Now Offering Night Classes to Help Residents Earn their High School Equivalency Diploma

Alexandria, La., April 24, 2018 — The Oakdale Campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) is now offering free night classes for adults who want to earn their high school equivalency diploma.  The classes help individuals prepare for and take the new high school equivalency test (HiSET) and receive a high school equivalency diploma.  The HiSET replaced the GED test in 2014.

Participants can receive one-on-one instruction in English, Reading and Math.  After moving through the different grade levels of these three subject areas, participants are given a practice test to ensure they are ready to take and pass the HiSET.

“This is a great opportunity for adults who work during the day,” said Denise Cloud-Miller, WorkReady U/Adult Education Instructor at the Oakdale Campus.  “You can support your family by working during the day and go to school at night for only a few hours each week.”

The night class is Tuesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CLTCC Oakdale Campus.  The campus also offers morning and afternoon classes (see complete schedule below).

The WorkReady U/Adult Education program also offers English as a Second Language and citizenship preparation classes.
