Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships are an important form of financial aid that can help students cover tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other educational expenses while pursuing a degree or credential at CLTCC.
Through the generosity of individuals, businesses, foundations, community partners, alumni, and other supporters, the CLTCC Foundation is proud to offer a growing number of scholarship opportunities for our students.
Each scholarship is established with its own purpose and eligibility requirements. Awards may be based on a student’s program of study, financial need, academic progress, career goals, community involvement, or other donor-established criteria.
We encourage students to review the available opportunities and apply for any scholarships for which they may be eligible.
Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) has partnered with CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini for an expanded cohort program designed to fast-track Practical Nursing students into their careers. Five selected students will receive academic support, a direct pathway to employment upon graduation, and up to $25,000 in assistance toward educational debt. Applications open this Fall for eligible students at any stage of the Practical Nursing program. For paper applications, please mail completed applications to:

The Cleco Power of a Promise Scholarship is available to students enrolling in CLTCC's Cybersecurity, Industrial Manufacturing Technology, and Power Line Worker Programs.
ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for the Cleco Power of a Promise Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Classify as a high school junior or senior on track to earn a high school diploma with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Provide an official or unofficial transcript with application. NOTE: If award is received during junior year, GPA must meet same criteria upon graduation.
2. An interest in pursuing the Cybersecurity, Industrial Manufacturing or Power Line Worker programs at CLTCC. NOTE: Scholarship funds are awarded following verification of enrollment and attendance after the start of the academic term.
3. Demonstrate critical financial need ($75,000 or lower adjusted gross family income or Pell Grant eligibility required).
4. Eligible to work in U.S. (an active work visa is acceptable).
5. Exhibit academic excellence, personal achievement, community engagement, and workplace readiness through extracurricular activities, awards, recognition, community service, work history and an ACT WorkKeys Bronze credential or higher.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. CLTCC and Cleco will promote the availability of the Cleco Power of a Promise Scholarship at the beginning of each academic year.
2. Applications will be accepted from September 1 through March 15 of each academic year. Note: Applications can be hand delivered, mailed, or emailed to CLTCC.
3. CLTCC will forward qualifying applications to the Scholarship Advisory Committee which includes representatives from CLTCC and Cleco.
4. Applications will be evaluated based on the established scholarship criteria and submitted application materials.
5. The Scholarship Advisory Committee will invite top applicants for in-person interviews.
6. Scholarship recipients will be announced following final approval by the Scholarship Advisory Committee by end of April each academic year.
The Rapides Republican Parish Executive Committee is offering five $500 scholarships to support CLTCC students pursuing their education at the Alexandria Main Campus. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a CLTCC credit program, demonstrate financial need, have completed two semesters at CLTCC, and remain in good academic standing. Scholarship funds may be used toward tuition, books, required supplies, and other eligible educational expenses.

The CLTCC Foundation is offering a $1,000 per-semester scholarship to support determined students facing continued financial challenges. Up to five eligible students who have completed at least one semester can receive assistance for tuition, books, and supplies, provided they demonstrate financial need and do not receive a Federal Pell Grant. Applications are due annually by July 31.
The Alexandria Business Foundation Scholarship provides multiple endowed scholarship opportunities to students attending, planning to attend, and transferring with an associate degree majoring in a General Business or Accounting program.
As a Louisiana FFA graduate, you are eligible for a $500 one-time scholarship to an eligible college.
Students can receive up to $2,500 to pursue career or technical education.
As a JAG-LA graduate, you are eligible for a $500 one-time scholarship to an eligible college.
Provides $1,000 to Jump Start graduates earning both a Jump Start credential and a Louisiana high school diploma. The scholarship supports Louisiana students in obtaining the necessary training to secure industry employment in high-demand, high-income construction crafts and STEM-related fields.
WorkReady U through the Foundation for the Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges is providing a way to help students pay for the Louisiana High School Equivalency (HSE) test in either English or Spanish. The scholarship will provide financial support to test candidates that meet the eligibility criteria.
The MJ Foster Promise Program provides financial assistance to eligible Louisiana residents (21 years or older) who enroll in a qualified program at a two-year public college or university or an approved proprietary school to pursue an associate degree or a shorter-term credential required for certain high-demand, high-wage occupations. Students under age 21 who have already received the award continue to be eligible, provided they meet all program requirements. WorkReady U, through the Foundation for Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges, is providing financial assistance to WRU graduates who enroll in a LCTCS college.
The Oliver-Lee Commemorative Scholarship Fund was established in 2019. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students pursuing a degree/certificate in the field of Nursing/Allied Health. Dr. Adrena Lee has donated to the Central Louisiana Technical Community College-Ward H. Nash Avoyelles Campus (CLTCC Avoyelles), and the provisions of this scholarship are consistent with the policies of CLTCCAvoyelles as outlined in the admission requirements.
The POB Fallen Brothers Scholarship is a memorial scholarship in honor of our dear Brothers who have passed away. This scholarship serves as a lasting tribute to their memories and the profound sense of camaraderie they embodied. The POB ONE TIME scholarship will be awarded to a student planning to attend or currently attending the CLECO CLTCC Manufacturing campus. Student must be enrolled full-time in any program offered within CLTCC’s Manufacturing Center: Welding, HVAC, Electrical or Manufacturing.
