CLTCC Sabine Valley Campus in Many to offer new electrician technology program

Classes start Oct. 16

Alexandria, La., Sept. 27, 2017 — The Sabine Valley Campus of Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) located in Many is offering an electrician technology training program this fall starting Oct. 16.

The program will provide specialized instruction and hands-on experience to prepare students for employment in electrical trades. There are several credentials and exit points available through the program with the highest credential being a technical diploma. Students who pursue the highest credential can finish each semester with a competency certificate.

The program is approximately four semesters based on full-time enrollment. Classes will be at the Many campus Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

"This program is ideal for individuals who are unemployed or who are already working but want to improve their workforce skills and get a better job,” said Karl Young, Sabine Valley Campus Dean. “A career in electrician technology is considered high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand. We will always need electricians. Without electricians, there would be no lights, computers, or televisions plugged into our walls. All of the comforts and benefits of electricity are delivered to us with the help of electricians.”
