CLTCC Event Calendar
Manufacturing Expo/Job Fair
The official celebration of Manufacturing Day is the first Friday in October. However, any day can be Manufacturing Day. Most events occur during the month of October at manufacturing facilities and educational institutions across North America. The purpose is to give manufacturers an opportunity to share their craft and company culture with their communities and dispels myths about manufacturing. Modern manufacturing environments are commonly thought of as dark, dangerous factories designed for low-skilled workers. Manufacturing Day addresses this misperception by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing really is today.
CLTCC Manufacturing Day will be in the form of an exposition, and it will be comprised of a job fair for students currently enrolled in the program. Manufacturing companies will be available to answer questions and explain what they do. At 1 p.m., the Expo will be open to the general public. During this time, residents can meet with industry representatives and tour the CLTCC Manufacturing Training Center to learn more about the curriculum. CLTCC also will host students from area high schools throughout the month of October to share facts about Manufacturing.
