Cleco President and CEO Bill Fontenot to deliver keynote address at CLTCC’s 2018 Spring Commencement on May 24

Alexandria, La., May 22, 2018 — William “Bill” Fontenot, President and CEO of Cleco Corporate Holdings LLC and Cleco Power LLC, will deliver the keynote address at Central Louisiana Technical Community College’s (CLTCC) 2018 Spring Commencement on Thursday, May 24.
 
The ceremony will be at the Pentecostals of Alexandria, 2817 Rapides Avenue, Alexandria, La., and it will begin at 2 p.m.  Degrees and diplomas will be conferred to more than 200 students from all nine campuses who completed their studies in December 2017 and May 2018. 
 
Fontenot began his career with Cleco in 1986.  During his 33 years of service, he has managed the development and restructuring efforts of a $1 billion merchant power business, as well as led the development and construction of the $1 billion power plant, Madison 3.  He most recently served as Cleco’s Chief Operating Officer before being appointed as CEO in December 2017.
 
He serves on the boards of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, Council for a Better Louisiana, Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, Southeastern Electric Exchange and the Central Louisiana Community Foundation.  He is a member of Central Louisiana Manufacturing Managers Council and St. Rita Catholic Church.
 
Fontenot has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
