Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator training program prepares students for employment in the field of construction. Instruction is provided regarding the safe operation of various pieces of heavy equipment used on construction sites, including bulldozers, backhoe loaders, excavators and skid steer loaders. Students learn through in-class training based on NCCER training modules, use of electronic simulators and hands-on training in the field using actual heavy equipment machinery. After completion of this program, the student will have covered the basic skills for heavy equipment operation Level 1 and Level 2 designated by the National Center for Construction  Education and Research (NCCER) and will be prepared to seek employment as a beginning operator.

Graduates of this program work in a wide-range of industries, including construction companies, local municipalities such as the City of Alexandria, parish government, state government with agencies such as the state Department of Transportation and Development, federal government with agencies such as the U.S. Forest Service and many local businesses that utilize heavy equipment in their operations.

Cost: $6,200.00 with financing/scholarships available
